A beautiful thank you letter...

Hello Bloggers,

It's been a while... I know! Thankfully our first wedding season has gone better than we expected! We're excited to be working with some great brides in 2010 and 2011 including a few destination weddings. Today I bring you a letter that was sent to us last night by one of our previous brides we had the pleasure of working with this past November at the MAC Building.

Dear Vanessa and Natalia,

I finally had a moment in this crazy life to sit and write this email.

Words cannot begin to express how extremely grateful I am for ALL you did to make our wedding such a spectacular event!! I have many married friends and the advice received through out this process had always been the same, "enjoy, because it goes by really fast" and "no matter what happens at the reception, smile and just have fun". That being said, I was always prepared for a mishap at some point and I reminded myself of that on the way to the church. However, from the moment I stepped out of the car, the night became a dream. The one that I had longed for since the day I met Marco. The event went on without a hitch, it exceeded perfection and this was all thanks to the both of you. From the early meetings at my house buried in notebooks and lists, the venue visit after dark, the thoughtful relaxation package to the special attention on the day of preparations left me no doubt that my wedding was in better hands than mine. You are two very professional, caring, positive and exceptional women who really have a gift for what you do. It wasn't easy planning a wedding with over 12 vendors and 300 guests so needless to say I was a bit nervous how this would all come together. But somehow you made it all possible and when I saw that roof top, I couldn't believe my eyes. Everything looked far more extravagant than I had ever imagined. From the bottom of my heart thank you again for being such an instrumental part of our special day and for treating this wedding as if it were your own. You really do pay attention to every "divine detail" that a wedding encompasses. I wish you continued success and many more happy brides to come!!

All my love,
Mariela Suarez-Botero

Mariela- I couldn't help but tear up when I read this email! It's because of girls like you that we LOVE what we do. Thank you for your trust and allowing us to be apart of your special day with Marco.

Until next time,

It feels good to do good...

We were honored when our friend Alexandra Agostini from Uplyte and Pink Carpet Productions asked us to assist her in spreading Holiday Cheer to the children of “kids in Distress”. This is an amazing organization that cares for children that have been the victims of abuse or neglect. Alexandra and her team along with other event planners decorated the kids in distress shelter, playground and common areas. We told Alexandra we were planning a candy land theme and we were assigned the Recreational Room. As you can see from the pictures below we covered the room in candy canes, gingerbread men and giant lollipops. We were thrilled to be able to bring some holiday cheer to the lives of these children who have experienced so much. We encourage all of you to visit the kids in distress website to find out more about this amazing organization and discover ways you can help.

Divine Details Takes First Place!

The very first NACE South FL Chapter's Table Top Competition was held on November 16, 2009 at the Hillcrest Country Club in Ft. Lauderdale. As soon as Divine Details heard of the competition we jumped at the opportunity to participate. We knew the bar would be set very high by incredibly talented companies that were set to compete. We began with the theme, Morocco. It was Inspired by our dear friend Jamila and by all of the beautifully rich colors and intricate details.

Our first stop was to Over the Top Linens, where we instantly feel in love with the delicate pattern in a new linen we had never seen before. Only to discover that only one existed in gold. After many promises of a safe return, the linen was ours!! We paired it with a gorgeous wine satin floor length linen and our Moroccan theme was well on it’s way. Our next stop was to our good friend Rick from Avant Gardens. We have worked with Rick several times and know he is a true artist. If anyone could work with us to create something unique and over the top, Rick was our man. While standing in his showroom we spotted a beautiful lantern that Rick had just brought back from Morocco. We knew we had to have the lanterns incorporated somehow. We sat down with Rick and within two seconds he created a sketch for our amazing centerpiece. As we all know Divine Details is all about the details! So needless to say all of the details had to be perfect. When it comes to the most detailed and unique paper products we always turn to Little Luxuries Boutique. Basically, if you can think of it Sophia can make it. We quickly got to work on customized menus trimmed with hand threaded beading, layered placecards (each with named of a character from Casablanca). But this just wasn’t good enough for Sophia. She thought of creating miniature pillows for each and every placecard. Of course this isn’t really something you can buy in strores, so Sophia created every pillow and we sat (for hours) attaching the beading to all four corners of the pillows. All of our handmade crafts were paired with mahogany charger plates, favor boxes and candles (all purchased from Pier One).

Right before the guests entered we lit some incense to complete to the effect and our vision of Morocco was complete. We were so flattered by all of the compliments we received by our peers by of course the greatest of these was receiving first place. We really are thrilled but as you can see results are as great as the sum of its parts, and this was truly a team effort. We are very blessed to work with such creative and innovative professionals and for this we express our sincerest gratitude. We have given you the contact information for the vendors we spoke of in today’s blog. Feel free to contact them directly to have some of this creativity infused into your next event.

A special THANK YOU to NEOART for the pictures!

Elite Bridal Network Seminar in Key West

We recently had the opportunity to participate in the Elite Bridal Network trip to Key West. This was a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and network with amazing wedding professionals. During our three action packed days we were able to experience many of the beautiful venues Key West has to offer. Destination Weddings is a very popular trend that offers the opportunity to make your wedding a vacation for your guests. Florida brides have the advantage of being able to create a destination wedding without ever having to get on a plane. Key West had a great variety of options for every brides vision. Whether that vision includes a ceremony on a white sandy beach or the picture of elegance in a beautiful ballroom.

Below we've included a listing of all of the wonderful venues we had the pleasure of visiting.

Special thanks to all of the members of the Elite Bridal Network Team for all of their hard work in creating such a special experience for us!!

Casa Marina Resort

Ocean Key Resort
Marriott Beachside

La Concha
The Pier House
Kelly's Caribbean
Southernmost Mansion

Hyatt Key West

Thank you to NEOART for the wonderful pictures!

Congratulations to Venessa and Iker!!!

We recently had the pleasure of sharing in Venessa and Iker’s special day. Their beautiful ceremony took place in Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove followed by an elegant reception in The Coco Plum Women’s Club. The Coco Plum Women’s club is a wonderful option for a bride and groom that are on a budget and are interested in “Packaged Pricing”. Venessa’s package included all of her food, beverage, wedding cake and flowers. We choose to upgrade the linens and D.J. We’ve received a lot of great feedback regarding the linens. Venessa loved the black and white damask pattern, but this pattern can be a bit overwhelming when used on a large scale. To minimize this, we decided to create a runner as opposed to a full length linen, a black satin linen was used as a base. We also carried the pattern through to the chivari chair cushions. We can also not stress enough as to how much impact small details can have when you are on a limited budget, an example would be the beautiful place cards, table numbers and menus created by Little Luxuries Boutique. Below I have listed the names and contact information for the vendors who helped make beautiful event a reality. Remember a successful event is all about the sum of it’s parts. Make sure you hire vendors that will work well with you as well as with each other to ensure flawless execution. Remember……It’s all about the details.
